What are you doing this Summer Break?
I'm going to an awesome "Break Into Business Camp at CKEC. It's gonna be tons of fun and I'm sure I'll make lots of friends. I'm gonna learn about creating our own products and even making some money. (I think I'm going to like being my own boss!)
I heard that we are having cool guest speakers.

Throughout the course of the camp, youth learn about leadership, creativity, marketing, budgeting and teamwork

Creative Kids Dance Intensive

Conditioning, Stretch and strength, Jazz, Jazz Funk, Hip Hop, Breakdancing, and Lyrical….try it all and get in shape for a new year of dance at the same time.  

Rebekah Streeter:

Artistic Director/ Dance Instructor ( Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Creative Movement) has been teaching in the Halifax Region for 8 years. Completing her Diploma in Teachers training at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts, she became a certified Ballet Member And Associate Jazz Member with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) in 2003. Most recently she has been elected to the board of directors of Dance Nova Scotia. Other qualifications include Elementary RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) and a Diploma in Costume Studies (Dalhousie University).

Photography, Pottery, Painting , and Play Dough, come and play, be creative and experiment with us in a week  packed full with phenomenal art and fun.

A exhibit will be put on the Friday of the camp so Parents and friends can enjoy.

Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, lyrical try a little of each and find out which you like best.  The week includes games, songs, art and of course dance.

Boys and girls ages 7-12 can participate in golf at CKEC. Instruction will be lead by CPGA golf professional Trevor MacPherson. In a safe, fun and positive atmosphere, students will learn basic swing fundamentals, rules and ettiquette of the game

Basketball:

Best suited for campers 7 years & up

This week will consist of developing basic skills as a basis of success on the basketball court. Throughout the week we will be doing some fun drills that will teach the core skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and understanding fundamental plays in basketball that will enhance and develop their overall basketball skills.

Mark McLaughlin has just finished a University basketball career with the Saint Mary's Huskies. He was the conference rookie of the year in 2005-2006 and folled that with four straight AUS All-Star seasons. Mark helped the Huskies to a 2007-2008 AUS championship and two trips to the CIS nationals during his career.
